Description of the project:

In the scope of the Project and under the leadership of ISKUR, the “Action Plan on Women’s Employment” was prepared by the National Technical Team that was composed of relevant public agencies and non-governmental organizations. Within the framework of the action plan, gender equality representatives at managerial level from 81 Provincial Directorates were determined in order to monitor the processes related to gender equality. The recommendation that the issue of “women’s employment” should be the major agenda item in at least one of the meetings of the Provincial Boards of Employment and Vocational Training to be held in 2017 was reported to the Provincial Directorates for the purpose of considering equality of opportunity between men and women in the studies made by the Provincial Boards of Employment and Vocational Training.
In order to increase awareness in social gender equality and work standards, a short documentary film competition was organised across Turkey. From the social gender equality perspective of women entrepreneurship and labour market, analysis reports were prepared in the pilot provinces.
Entrepreneurship training programme evaluation trainings were given to 30 JVCs . Social gender equality trainings were given to 50 staff members of the General Directorate of Turkish Employment Agency, social gender equality representatives from 81 provincial directorates and 175 job and vocational counsellors. 400 women in pilot provinces received entrepreneurship training. At the end of the training, micro grant support and mentorship service will be given to 30 women.

Impact of the project:

Currently 400 women receive entrepreneurship training. At the end of the training, micro grant support and mentorship service will be given to 30 women who have succeeded and will have been selected.

Description of the project:

The project, financed by the EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, is being carried out by İŞKUR and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The budget of the project to be implemented in 2014-2021 is 38 million Euros. The objective of the project is to support women-led SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) in new employment areas. The target group of the project is SMEs which are owned or managed by women.
As part of the financial component of the project, the fund of 300 million Euros, allocated by the EBRD, is being made available for the use of the target SMEs as eligible loan through the national banks participating in the project. 10% of the extended loan is allocated as risk loss coverage to encourage the banks to give loans to women SMEs, and is covered by the project budget. Within the scope of the business support component, comprehensive counselling support, management skills trainings and mentoring services are provided in such fields as marketing, organization, information and communication technology, quality management, energy efficiency, and environmental management for the target group. Thus, the sustainable growth of the target SMEs in the medium- and long-term is supported.

Impact of the project:

BBy the end of 2016, 9.758 enterprises used nearly 130 million Euros of loans in Turkey. By the end of March 2017, 264 enterprises benefited from counselling projects, 80 enterprises were provided with mentorship service, and 379 enterprises were given entrepreneurship training.

Description of the project:

The Skills for Employability Project aims to strengthen and develop Senegal’s knowledge-based economy by building upon the established African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Industry Initiative and Co-op Master’s Programme to support the integration and engagement of Senegalese female and male scientists in industry and entrepreneurship across the Francophonie. The Programme provides internship, mentorship, job-shadowing, and work-based learning opportunities to help female and male students gain experience and opportunities for meaningful future employment, while also providing valuable technical talent to employers. AIMS will deliberately increase access and opportunities for African women through the Project as well as mainstream gender across all Project components to promote inclusive, gender-sensitive learning and working environments in the field of mathematical sciences.
Key elements in this Project include 1) a new post-AIMS 2-month business certificate to enable AIMS students and alumni to develop in-depth business and entrepreneurial skills with a 3-month business internship; 2) the launch of online learning modules through the African Virtual University (AVU) digital learning platform and 3) industry-focused math forums that bring mathematicians and industry together to solve practical challenges faced by industry in la Francophonie.
This project is implemented by the AIMS – Next Einstein Initiative Foundation (Canada) in partnership with AIMS Senegal.

Impact of the project:

200 students (80 females and 120 males) will graduate from AIMS Co-op Master’s programme in Senegal, 330 students (208 females and 122 males) will obtain an Entrepreneurship certificate and 2250 students (680 f – 1570 m), will complete a massive open online course (MOOC) across Francophone Africa.

Face-to-face presentations cover online grooming, sexting, sextortion, privacy management, respectful relationships and cyberbullying.
ThinkUKnow uses a network of trained law enforcement members and accredited volunteers from programme partner organisations to deliver the cyber safety education presentations nationwide.
ThinkUKnow is a partnership between Microsoft Australia, Datacom and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and is delivered in collaboration with the New South Wales Police Force, Northern Territory Police, Queensland Police Service, South Australia Police, Tasmania Police, Western Australia Police, and Neighbourhood Watch Australasia.
Originally developed in the United Kingdom by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre, ThinkUKnow Australia was established by the AFP in 2009.

Description of the project:

eSafety Women is designed to empower Australian women to take control of their online experiences. The website provides information for women on how to have a safer online experience. It includes helpful videos, a technology check-up, and a virtual tour of technology found in homes, cars, and personal devices.
The website also benefits frontline service providers, enhancing the support they provide to women on technology safety. The eSafety Women websites enable frontline services, specialist and support staff to sign up for free, two-hour workshops on online safety. The workshops raise awareness of technology-facilitated abuse and provide staff with up-to-date skills and knowledge to support women and families.
